Alpha Centauri I
Oil on Canvas 2009
This painting unfolds as a vertical transmission of consciousness, descending from a radiant stellar intelligence into the embodied human realm. At its center, a mandalic nexus of mirrored faces forms a chorus of archetypal witnesses—ancestral, cosmic, and transpersonal—arrayed around a Vajra of light.
The central figure itself is not singular, but composite—an alchemical being formed from a hybrid of elemental qualities. Feather and fin, claw and fur interweave across its anatomy, signaling a consciousness that has integrated multiple modes of life and perception. Avian, aquatic, reptilian, and mammalian aspects converge, suggesting an intelligence that has passed through many evolutionary thresholds and now holds them simultaneously.
The central figure is enthroned upon a symmetrical alphabetic grid, a throne of language that suggests reality being structured, encoded, and sustained through symbol, sound, and meaning. This lattice of mirrored glyphs evokes language not merely as communication, but as a generative architecture—an interface between mind and cosmos through which consciousness organizes itself.
Below this linguistic foundation emerge two primordial beings—reptilian and aquatic in nature—coiled within the lower strata of the composition. These forms represent the base layers of consciousness: instinctual, pre-symbolic, and bound to the dreamlike loops of survival and repetition. They inhabit the matrix of unconscious patterning from which awareness must awaken and ascend.
A luminous current threads through all layers, culminating in a human receiver at the base—bridging stellar intelligence and terrestrial embodiment. The work ultimately reads as a cosmological map: a vision of awakening in which language, myth, and self-awareness become the means by which consciousness remembers its origin beyond the dream.
